Pérgamo Ensemble & Lidia Vinyes-Curtis

Spanish Baroque music with Pérgamo Ensemble and mezzo-soprano Lidia Vinyes-Curtis at The Shoe Factory.

For their Cyprus debut, Pérgamo Ensemble and Spanish mezzo-soprano Lidia Vinyes-Curtis perform 18th-century music written in Spain, including works rediscovered by the ensemble and compositions that survived the 1734 fire at Madrid’s Royal Alcázar.

The programme includes Facco’s Sinfonia a violoncello solo and Or che spunta nel prato; Scarlatti’s Al fin diviene amante; Martín i Coll’s Flores de Música for harpsichord; an anonymous Sonata III for cello and bass; Torres’s ¿Quién podrá?; and Nebra’s Grave en mi pecho. Presented by the Pharos Arts Foundation in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain and Instituto Cervantes, with sponsorship from CPT.
