About event
Miklós Rózsa’s The Jungle Book suite for narrator and orchestra, performed by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra in Larnaca and Nicosia.
The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra performs Miklós Rózsa’s suite from The Jungle Book (1942), conducted by Kyriaki Kountouri with live narration by Petros Georkadjis. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s Mowgli stories, the music combines Indian musical elements with symphonic writing and eighteen themes for the story’s principal characters.
Mezzo-soprano Marilena Nissidi performs Mowgli’s lullaby at the Larnaca concert.
